Learning to sing or play a musical instrument is a great outlet to express your creativity. Mastering a new skill can also help to improve your self-confidence. So, if you have an appreciation of music, it's well worth learning to play it yourself! Whilst there are various online tutorials available, it can be tricky to get started when you don't have any prior experience. If you want to master the fundamentals and progress to performing your favourite music as quickly as possible, you should consult an experienced music teacher.
North Thoresby Music Services offer professional violin, viola, piano and oboe tuition, along with singing lessons (ABRSM Classical Singing and LCM Music Theatre) and music theory. Our music teachers Gill and David Parker cater to pupils of all ages and levels of ability – from beginner level through to Grade 8. We regularly work with students, helping them to perfect compositions for their GCSE and A-level exams.
Gill and David are friendly, patient teachers and have a wide range of experience in teaching and performing music. They are both former members of The Tallis Scholars and ran the music department at Grimsby's prestigious Franklin Sixth Form College for more than 20 years. Gill specialises in violin and viola tuition (up to Grade 8) and has served as an Edexcel examiner for A-level Harmony and composition for over 10 years. David provides our piano lessons. He is an experienced rehearsal pianist and conductor, and has served as an Edexcel examiner in A-level Performing for over 10 years.
Our lessons take place in a relaxed, unhurried setting and pupils are encouraged to learn at their own pace. Whether you're an absolute beginner or already have some musical training, we're confident we can help you to achieve your goals.
